Pastor Andrei to Visit the Northwest and North American Convention

Pastor Andrei Kolegov will be in the Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon areas from Sunday, June 14 to Sunday, June 21. We are so excited to have this opportunity for Pastor Andrei to share in person a word of thanks to so many that have helped the Chelyabinsk Church over the years. During that week Pastor Andrei will be visiting churches, missions teams, and some of our partners in ministry.

After the visit to the Northwest, Pastor Andrei will be in Indiana for the North American Convention of the Church of God. On Wednesday, June 24th, he will be joined by Lena Barannikova and will visiting Monroe City Church of God. During the NAC there will be many opportunities to connect with him as well as Dwayne and Kara Goldman. We will post a NAC schedule soon. Following the convention Pastor Andrei and Lena will visit Lexington, Kentucky on Sunday, July 5th, before returning to Russia. Until then please pray for Pastor Andrei as he travels and shares the wonderful stories of God's mercy and provisions in the Russian church.

Ministry Center (May Update)

It's finally Spring in the Urals and Pastor Andrei shares the latest news surrounding the Window Project and construction of the Chelyabinsk Ministry Center in Russia.

Construction Update

Phases Completed - The ventilation, plumbing and electrical wiring for the interior are completed. A few remaining areas will need to be addressed in the future, but the majority of the hardware, pipes and ducts are laid. In addition to these interior areas, within the past year the empty shell of a building has had the windows and doors installed and nearly all the exterior facade and painting completed. What a difference one year can make!

Next Phases - The connection to heat and the wiring for the ventilation system as well as the purchase and installation of the air handler are the next steps. Beyond that, preparations are being made for putting in walls and flooring and interior painting. Currently, the work proceeds only as the funds are in hand for each step. Each time a step is completed, there has always been enough for moving forward. As the final steps are approaching, we continue to trust that every need will be provided at the right time.

The Drywall Project - The people of the Chelyabinsk Church are currently raising money for one of the next steps in the construction. To finish the interior walls, it is estimated that 300 drywall boards will be needed. Each drywall board costs approximately 300 Rubles. (about $9 US) In two weeks the church has collected for 43 boards already. Although the dollar is stronger now than it has been in over 10 years, the economic crisis throughout the world has hit Russia hard. Those who still have their jobs make significantly less than even a year ago while expenses and prices have still increased. The believers are generous and cheerful givers and God is blessing the church for being sacrificial in their giving and trusting in their hearts. May God bless all who go above and beyond during these difficult times.

Passing the Torch

Leaders that truly make a difference invest in others and find ways to empower others to do even greater things. One such leader recently passed away, Dr. Don Pickett. He opened the door to Russia by empowering a small group of youth and a young youth leader from Florida in the 1990’s that established a connection with Chelyabinsk, which eventually led to the planting of a church. Those that knew him are well aware of his love for young people and his passion and heart for the Russian people. We know he hoped to return once more to Chelyabinsk to be part of the dedication service. Instead, he is rejoicing now in heaven. We are saddened by the loss and had to say a temporary “goodbye” to a dear saint and champion of young leaders, however we also must remember the importance of continuing his legacy. It is our hope and prayer that the leadership development taking place in Russia today will accept the baton passed by Dr. Pickett and continue to encourage, train, and challenge young people to be all that God has gifted and created them to be, wherever that may take them.

Easter Celebration 2009

Orthodox Easter on April 19 was the date we hoped to dedicate the Chelyabinsk Ministry Center. We had visions of many of you standing together with the Russian church in thanksgiving and praise as this dream would finally become realized. Although the completion and dedication did not happen, our Easter was still filled with thanksgiving and praise as we celebrated the risen Savior. A year ago, we first shared the need facing the Russian church and the window of opportunity to see this building project completed. During this time we have seen God continue to pour out His blessings, even in the midst of difficult economic times. The original estimated goal was $350,000 to complete the exterior work and inspections so that the building can be occupied and used. To date $220,000 or over 60% has already been received. The economic fluctuations have so far benefited the project in that the dollar gained 30% more value in exchange rates and materials have either held steady in cost or decreased. The remaining $100,000 is needed as quickly as possible before circumstances and situations change again.

When the Window Project began last year, a compelling reason was the high fees and construction penalties that doubled each year. We are so thankful that the laws changed in November so the fee is decreasing to a set amount instead of continuing to double each year. However, penalties are not the only reason for urgency. Just two days before Easter, the pastors were told that the rented auditorium used for services is unavailable for the following week. Fortunately, this is only for one week and with enough notice to make the announcement to the congregation. It certainly highlights the desperate need for a facility that will always be available for services and ongoing ministry.

Providing finances and inspections, we hope to be in the Ministry Center within the year. The church leadership is making plans for a community ministry launch by the end of summer. That which God has begun, He will see through. Please share this update and need with others and continue to pray with us during these times. It is only through the partnership of all of us together that the Russian church can realize this dream. We are so thankful for the faithfulness of God and the generosity and encouragement of His people.

Deadlines vs. Faith

Deadlines do matter in life to complete tasks and projects, but I was recently reminded that the achievement of our hopes and dreams matter more. A few months ago, the realization that the dedication the Ministry Center had to be postponed was discouraging. At that time, Pastor Sergei withdrew for a moment and returned with a Russian church bulletin from 2002. In it was an announcement for a youth conference to be held at the Chelyabinsk Ministry Center in August 2003. That conference never happened and during that year, the Russian church and the Ministry Center faced the beginning of many setbacks and economic hardships. Pastor Sergei reminded us that our faith should not be shaken by missing a “printed” date but rather be challenged to a deeper level of trust. The Russian church understands and knows what it is like to face difficult times. This project has taken longer to complete than ever imagined and even as it still seems to be an endless task, with God nothing is impossible. Dates are set as goals for us to reach but it is ultimately God’s schedule that is followed. We do believe that the opportunity to complete this project is at hand. Although the window of opportunity may be narrowing, God has given us all the grace, strength and faith to see it through. We continue to plan, prepare, and set dates, but at the same time keep our faith that tomorrow is in God’s mighty hands.

Adopting a Vision for Chelyabinsk

Soon after the Goldman family arrived in Chelyabinsk in the fall of 2007, they were contacted by several American couples who were stuck in lengthy delays in adoption processes. Some spent over two months waiting in Chelyabinsk and were determined not to leave this time without their children. During this time, they came to church and met the people and pastors. These families were quickly “adopted” and found the support and encouragement they needed from an unexpected source, a Russian church. As their prayers were answered and they left Chelyabinsk with their children, Pastor Andrei had the honor to pray a dedication over them as newly formed families.

This was a ministry we never envisioned but one that God brought about and it was our privilege as the church (in Russia) to serve these families. The relationships and connection did not end when those families departed Chelyabinsk. They still are part of our extended family of believers and have also become partners in the Window Project.

One couple is from Colombia, Missouri and attends a small country church. Dwayne recently visited this family and the church in February while renewing visas. In an adoption, there is a tremendous need of support from friends and family; it is the time when others come alongside and lift you up in prayer and support. In a similar way, Midway Heights Baptist Church has “adopted” the Chelyabinsk Ministry Center and the Russian church through their love and support. How amazing to see how God brings His people together in ways that are beyond our imagination or expectations.

Spring Has Sprung (Kindof)

The first of March signifies the "official" beginning of spring in Russia. Even though it is snowing as I write, the hardest part of winter is over. While renewing visas in the US in February, Dwayne met with Keith Stork who plans to bring a team from the US to the building dedication and celebration service. The trip is being coordinated with Eye on the World. After reviewing current progress and funds yet needed for the completion of the Ministry Center, the decision has been made to postpone the Celebration from the target date of April 19, 2009 (Orthodox Easter)to a later date.

Work continues inside the Ministry Center and we hope to soon have the funds to begin drywalling. We are so grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support and prayer during the 10 months since the Window Project began. Already over $220,000 has been raised in this short time. Although economic hardships impact the entire globe, the dollar is stronger today in Russia than it has been in over 10 years. Each dollar now goes much farther- it is a great investment that each dollar given actually INCREASES in value almost 40%! The remaining $130,000 will complete the building phase (drywall, ceiling, floors and fixtures) and cover final inspections.

Each step of the way the Lord has provided exactly what was needed in order to continue the work. We trust Him to continue and believe that it is possible to begin ministry in the completed Center by the end of summer. We know that ultimately the timeline is in God's hands and although we plan and target dates, He knows when it is the right time. It is a wonderful gift to trust in His timing and also see that the fulfillment of this dream and promise is coming soon!

See What the Lord has Done!

As we stand at the beginning of a new year, we took the moment to reflect over the past year. And we are amazed! A year ago, we became aware of the critical need to move the Ministry Training Center to completion. Many joined with us in prayer and partnership as we saw the Window of Opportunity to Seize the Moment. The building looks very different now than it did 12 months ago and although it looks almost finished on the outside- the work is just beginning on the inside.

While we had hoped to be further along with the interior, as we look back, we can only stand amazed at the amount that was completed with your prayers and support. Below is a slideshow to show what has been accomplished.



In the next months, the work is continuing on the interior. Workers are in the process of installing the plumbing and fixtures, the wiring, and ventilation system. Then as funds continue to be available, the dry wall and plastering and other finishing work will begin. A tentative dedication was scheduled for April, the date has now been moved to Fall 2009. Even now, it is still a process of faith for the church to continue, but as demonstrated to us in the past- God is faithful and He will be with us every step of the way.

Broken Tiles, Not Broken Dreams

In each Update letter, we have a Prayer Request asking you to pray for protection from vandalism and theft. Just as there are stories and testimonies of the many good things happening, we also experience a few frustrations along the way. One that hasn’t been a serious problem to date is this one. The possibility of theft and vandalism is present and some damage and loss will occur. We pray as a church each week for the safety of the workers and the protection of the property. As this Ministry Center comes closer and closer to completion, we recognize that in many ways it is a sign to the darkness in this world announcing the kingdom of God. The darkness cannot coexist with the Light and it is the darkness we pray against and pray protection from. A few broken tiles will not break our dreams.

Thanksgiving Video Update

Thanksgiving Surprise

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Pastor Sokol shared that he would be meeting with city officials the next day to discuss next year’s fees regarding unfinished construction. He shared that changes had been made in the law and the fees would no longer double. He was unsure of all the details but was very optimistic. At the meeting on Wednesday, Pastor Sokol signed a new agreement for the Ministry Center and the new set amount of penalty for unfinished construction. The agreement states that starting next year, the annual penalty due is equivalent to less than $4,000. It was as if a huge weight was lifted and that God was saying “Do not fear, I am with you.” The next day was Thanksgiving. Together with Pastor Sergei and Olga Sokol and Pastor Andrei, we shared our gratefulness to God for His provisions and His faithfulness over a Thanksgiving meal. We do have so much to be thankful for; for this unexpected blessing, for the tremendous work that has been done and the prayers, funds, and people that God has used to make all of this possible.

We are humbled and grateful for all that you do to support and encourage the Russian church and us. As economies fluctuate and financial fears loom, we recognize that it is in times of crisis when God’s children have opportunity to shine the brightest. I witnessed it in Florida through three hurricanes, I saw it again in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast, and I see it each time we visit you and share the stories and the work here. I see it each and every day working with the young Russian church as they “Seize the Moment, and Share the Dream.”

The Prayer of Our Hearts

We continue to progress with construction, though now the work is in the stage that it is not as readily visible to the eye from the exterior! This is a fact to rejoice in, though it does not make it conducive to take photos and make updates! Every step of the way, as a need for funds has arisen, each time what was needed has been provided. God has proven His faithfulness and He has also increased and strengthened our faith along the way. To date, in funds we are just above 50%. Although there are still challenges ahead, we are thankful and stand amazed at how much work has happened in the past 8 months, as well as how God has provided. We are on His timetable, our job is to tell the story, to make every effort in construction, and to be faithful in rejoicing!

Yesterday, I (Kara) drove past the building site. I knew it would not look any different, but I hadn't seen it recently and just wanted to remind myself of the reality of God at work in this city. It was a rare moment when I was alone in the van, as I had just come from my Russian lesson. A CD was playing and I wasn't really listening, it is a new one that Dwayne got in October of Chris Tomlin. As I circled the block and drove around the building, my mind engaged and I heard the words being sung. I was stunned with the lyrics because they echoed my thoughts, though I don't think I had ever heard the song. Not that they were the exact words, but the unconscious, unspoken desires in my heart were actually summed up by this song, "God of This City" by Chris Tomlin.

You're the God of this city

You're the Lord of this nation
You Are

For there is no one like our God

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

I couldn't agree more- Great things are ahead and we have witness great things in the past and present, but GREATER things are still to come and it will certainly be part of the future of what happens from the Ministry Training Center. Those words were a precious promise of the future as I heard them, for the construction, for the funds, but even more, for the impact of the body of Christ and the Gospel on this city!!

Even at this time, when there are challenges with construction, funds, with the constant fluctuations of governments and economies. But, right now, as prices drop and construction slows, it makes the funds stretch further- it is a praise! Pray with us. Rejoice with us. Thank you so much for ministering to us and along with us.

The completion of the Russia Ministry Training Center is only being accomplished through the partnership of individuals and churches literally around the world. Seize the Moment, Share the Dream

During our recent trip to the States, we witnessed some amazing responses to the urgency of the need for the completion of the Ministry Center. We were able to share, along with Pastor Andrei, at several churches and with many at NAC. This project is taking on a life of it's own and we are seeing an amazing response which greatly confirms that God is bringing this Dream He gave to the Chelyabinsk church to pass.

Construction has moved along in June and July, though much of it is not visible on the surface. Much of the equipment for the heating has been purchased and is in the process of being installed. The water is also in process of being connected. All the windows and doors have been installed (with the exception of the front doors) and the stucco and cement work completed on the exterior.

Funds have continued to come steadily which has enabled the work to continue to progress. At this date, the total stands at one-third that has been received, right around the $120,000 mark. We continue to pray and trust that each time funds are needed, they will be available. The goal is to complete as much as is possible in summer and early fall while the weather is conducive. There is still a great need and a strong urgency for continuing funds to get the construction accomplished in the next 6 months.

Rejoice With Us!

We are rejoicing that the official city permits and paperwork have been completed and the installation of the water and heating in the Chelyabinsk Ministry Center will begin next week!! This area has been delayed for over a year and a half, with little that could be done except to pay a bribe or pray. The church chose the latter and God has brought about this miracle.

The delay was caused as the city was requiring the church to do some drainage work before they would connect the building to the city water. The permits to do this work, however, involved another landowner and of course, this meant additional expense and work for the church. Little forward motion could be made and the believers have simply prayed and fasted specifically about this issue.

This past winter, the water pipes all around the Ministry Center building site burst and thick layers of ice surrounded the yard and street. As spring came, the city had to do all the repairs to correct the water damage and drainage. With heavy spring rains, drainage was a continuing problem and the city was forced to take care of it. So now, the church is not required to repair the drainage and work can begin to connect the building with the city water and heat.



In addition, we are thankful that funds have been provided just as they are needed and work has continued at a steady pace.

You have so faithfully partnered with us, the church in Russia, and the Ministry Center project. Your prayers and support are vital to all of us. Praise the Lord!! His Faithfulness continues to be shown, proven and sustains us each day!

The First of many to come

As the reality of being on the proverbial 'home stretch" of the building project sets in, the excitement is building among everyone. Each one who has sacrificed, though finances and prayer, has also had dreams and visions of what the future will hold. A very special "first" glimpse of some of the hopes, dreams, and visions came into our reality during Easter week. The pastors and leadership decided to hold a communion service on Maundy Thursday at the building site.



The day was overcast and chilly, transportation in the city was at a virtual stand-still due to a protest by the pensioners over transportation costs. The whole central district was cut off as the main trolley and tram routes were blocked by their protest. So, it was a challenge for many to get to the building that day, but in the end about 25 of us gathered.


The windows are in the sanctuary, which certainly made it not as cold inside as it was outside, especially as we were fully sheltered from the wind. However, it is still a construction zone, with various wood and brick debris scattered around and of course, lots of dust and dirt. Officially, we are not allowed to have any regular meetings there as the building is not inspected for use, nor is it ready to be, but a one-time gathering is not a problem.


A makeshift communion table was formed from gathering several cement blocks and laying a plank of wood over them. The cloth and elements were laid out on top and we all circled around. We all stood for the thoughts presented by Pastor Sokol, and we spent time in prayer before quietly sharing in communion together. After that solemn time, we took a moment to rejoice, saying "Praise God!" (слава богу!!), because we had just held the very first service in this building. Yes, it will be a church, but it will be so many other things as well. It will be a center for training leaders, for classes and conferences to develop pastors and layleaders, for clubs and "studios" which will bring the community into the facility and allow the real 'church', the people of God, to build relationships with the thousands who surround the building. It was a beautiful, thrilling moment to have this glimpse and in a way, a fitting inaugural gathering, communion which reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice and unending love. The legacy of our Savior which we who share in His communion are challenged to live out every day in our lives.


The other quiet significance of the gathering is that we all are planning to gather again next year at Easter, but this time not only with a few amidst the construction. Next Easter, April 19, 2009, we look forward to a dedication service, a gathering of many who have waited, longed for, and sacrificed for the day when this 'church' (the followers of Christ) would see the fulfillment of a promise and vision God gave them long ago; the completion of a ministry facility which will be used for the glory of God and the advance of His kingdom here on earth. This communion was a sweet foretaste of the amazing things to come as we watch during this year and beyond as God fulfills His promise and leads the believers into the continuing journey "unto the ends of the earth."

A New Look!

The work is progressing! We currently have enough funds to complete the facade, tiling and stucco on the exterior and most of the windows. There is still much more that needs to be done, but we are taking it step by step. God has been and will continue to be faithful in bringing this project to completion.

It has been awhile since the exterior had made noticeable changes, but just in the last few weeks, work has begun to complete the tile work on the front entry of the building. Pastors Sergei and Andrei gathered with our family for a photo just as the scaffolding went up. That was the last of March, you can still see the snow on the ground. Then, work began and we are just amazed at the difference! Just seeing the tile on the exterior makes seeing a completed building seem ALOT closer. We know it is just one step of the many yet to come, but this one has great significance because it brings such a tangible, noticeable difference to the appearance of the building!

As the tile is completed, the front windows will soon go in and the building will begin to have a much more completed look on the exterior. The interior still has the great majority of work remaining, but as long as funds are available, the work should easily continue and we are beginning to see the reality of some completed construction! Keep praying! Rejoice with us as we witness this miracle of God's provision.

Easter Resurrection 1991

Since this is the season of Easter, it is a good time to remember the first service of the Church of God in Chelyabinsk. Church holidays in Russia still follow the Orthodox calendar, based on the Julian calendar. The majority of the world follows the Gregorian calendar, so often church holidays fall on different dates in Russia than in most parts of the world. For example, most of the world celebrated Easter this year on March 23, but our Easter will be celebrated on April 27. We just celebrate it twice, which makes it the 'season' of Easter, like the 'season' of Christmas (December 25/January 7).

Following the Florida Youth Convention of 1990, seven teenagers and one young youth pastor and a few other adults made the first ever trip to the closed Siberian city of Chelyabinsk. It was the week of their spring break, the first week of April 1991. Officially, the country of Russia was still the Soviet Union, and in particular, the city of Chelyabinsk was for the first time in dozens of years inviting Americans. This was a BIG deal, the teenagers were invited by the mayor and city officials, literally this was like an official state visit from US delegates. (photo: Mark Shaner)

For security precautions, the American delegation had to stay outside the city in a youth camp. They made visits to the city, about a two hour round trip drive, and were welcomed with official pomp and circumstance, red carpet greetings and even given a key to the city. Other than the official ceremonies, most of their time was spent more one on one with a group of specially selected Russian students, teachers, and officials. Each group made numerous cultural presentations, showcasing their skills and education, as well as trying to teach each other about their respective home countries.

As the week came to a close, the Russian delegates took notice that regularly the American group would withdraw to a room by themselves. What raised the curiousity was that the Americans were tired and weary when they entered, but each time they came out of the room smiling, full of energy and enthusiasm.
The Russian delegates wanted to know what was happening in the room that brought a total change upon the Americans. Since it was by request, the youth pastor and teenagers agreed to show the Russians what they did when they withdrew to a separate room. It was the last day of their stay, Sunday April 7, 1991, Easter on the Orthodox calendar. They organized a little service, read Scriptures, shared about the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and sang "Amazing Grace". At the conclusion of the "impromtu" Easter service, all but three prayed and received Christ as their Savior. Hallelujah!!! What a resurrection was celebrated that day!!

Officially, God began a new church that day, using the witness and testimony of a little group of teenagers and a youth pastor that shared their passion and love of Christ. Easter is a significant time for all believers, but for the church of believers in Chelyabinsk, it is also their Spiritual Birthday as a church. The first believers that formed the core of the church here today came together on Easter, April 7, 1991.

It starts with ONE!

I know the photo in the header shows some of the new windows, but I wanted to post a few close up photos. There is still a long way to go, but there is something about seeing windows in those big empty holes that makes it feel like the completion is alot closer. We took photos of the progress, even though only some of the windows are in, and showed a slideshow at church. A spontaneous and collective SHOUT of "PRAISE GOD!!" or "Слава Богу!" rang out, along with applause.

The believers here have been collecting towards the window installation since November 2007. They made pledges and have already given more than double what was pledged and they also collect a "penny-a-day" on the last Sunday of each month. Of course, it is more like "Kopecks-a-day", but to date they have brought in close to 20% of the total cost of the windows. Kopecks are smaller than roubles- like our pennies it takes 100 kopecks to make 1 rouble. Currently, it is 24 roubles to $1 US. Believe me, it is ALOT of kopecks, but oh, how the little "widow's mite" adds up in God's economy!

So, rejoice with us! It is okay to jump up and down, shout praise to God, and give Him glory to see this happen. Many, many people have been part of the project and this is a moment we wanted to share with the world!

Florida Youth Convention 1990

Starting at the beginning can be a little like pulling a thread which just keeps unraveling. You think if you pull you'll find the beginning, but instead it just keeps going and going and going. You get the idea. So, while we could keep following the thread a long way back, we have elected to start at this particular point. Of course, other events led to this point, but this is where our first hand knowledge of the story of Chelyabisnk begins.

The State of Florida Youth Convention was held the last weekend of November 1990. The speaker for the convention was Dr. J. David Stone, from Lousiana. Dr. Stone's daughter had been in an accident and sustained a paralyzing spinal injury. Determined to find a way to help his daughter regain mobility, Dr. Stone arranged for her to undergo a type of spinal surgery performed only in Moscow, Russia. While in Moscow, Dr. Stone and his daughter made the aquaintence of a young student, also visiting Moscow from a Siberian city one thousand miles from Moscow. To meet and become acquainted with an American was an amazing opportunity for the Russian girl.

Dr. Stone and his daughter, who had a successful surgery and did regain some mobility, returned to the United States. The young Russian girl returned to her city, far from Moscow and soon convinced her father to extend an invitation to her new American friends to come to Chelyabinsk to visit. The father of the Russian girl, happened to be the Minister of Education of the city of Chelyabinsk and the invitation was extended as an educational exchange. Dr. Stone received the invitation and realized what an honor and incredible opportunity was being offered. This is still more than a year before the official collapse of the Soviet Union and even more, the city of Chelyabinsk was considered a "closed" city, not open to visitors. But this city official had the authority to invite and so the opportunity was calling.

Dr. Stone shared this story with the youth and in particular, a youth pastor from Florida (at the time) Mark Shaner. Mark has a heart of passion for youth and for missions and this invitation nailed both passions into one. At the close of the convention, Mark extended the challenge and invitation to the youth of Florida- kids who have probably never seen snow- to go to Siberia to meet and make friends with Russian youth. God brought all the details into place- a relationship made by a "chance" meeting in Moscow, an invitation to a city that was unapproachable, a pastor with passion to challenge youth and reach the world for Christ.

Let's Start at the very Beginning...

A very good place to start. When you read you begin with A,B,C when you blog you begin with who, what, why. The first three blogs just happen to be, who, what, why.

The title and first couple sentences will make alot more sense to you if you sing them to the tune of Do-Re-Me from the Sound of Music! But as I sat here trying to figure out where to start- this was the first thing that flew into my head. Let's just start at the very beginning. The question then is where exactly is the beginning of this project? Officially the ground-breaking? or when the land was purchased? or when the first contacts were made that planted the real church of believers here? They are all beginnings, and though our attempt will be incomplete, we want to start at the root beginning which has brought us all to this moment in time. This will take numerous entries spread out over the course of time that we blog here, but it is a journey that we all need to take. A refresher in how we got to where we are- as the Lord commanded the Israelites to recall His mighty deeds and pass them on from generation to generation. We have passed through the first generation of believers and this is the time to pass the story to the next generation of God's plan, provision, and protection.

We invite you to take this journey with us. Many, many people have been part of this journey and each knows their part of the story. If you are part of this, in particular, we ask for you to refresh your memories and share with us your part of the amazing journey. The story begins in 1991.

It is official! This blog is brand new and it will be updated regularly with photos and information about the building project and the status of the funds. We know how far we have come to get to this point, as well, and we also intend to use this blog to say thanks to the many who have prayed and given support and encouragement over the five years. It is a lofty sounding goal to set- this goal of finishing the building by the end of 2008. It sounds as crazy as building an ark when there is no rain- but we have read how that crazy building project ended and the lesson seems to be when God says "Build it!" just do it! If you have already stumbled on this blog, we hope it is because you have a great interest in this ministry center.
